Timetable · automatic generation

Generate your school timetable automatically

Teachers, rooms, weekly hours and constraints: Manhaj builds a conflict-free timetable, then lets you fine-tune it with the mouse.

Building the timetable is often the most dreaded task of the new school year. You have to respect each subject's weekly hours, the availability of teachers who sometimes work in several schools and the capacity of rooms and labs — without ending up with four hours in a row of the same subject. On a paper chart or a spreadsheet, the smallest change sets off a cascade of conflicts. Manhaj relies on a constraint-based generation engine: you describe your rules, the tool proposes a complete, consistent timetable, and you stay in control to adjust it. It is then published for teachers, students and their parents. And when constraints change during the year, you simply edit a rule or a slot instead of starting over.

Constraint-based generation

The engine places lessons while respecting weekly hours, teacher availability, rooms, the maximum number of hours per day and a limit on consecutive hours of the same subject.

Conflict detection

A teacher placed in two classes at the same time, a room booked twice, an unavailability ignored: every conflict is flagged immediately, before publication.

Drag-and-drop adjustments

Move a lesson in the grid and Manhaj checks live that the new slot creates no conflict. You keep the final say on every detail without breaking the whole.

Ramadan hours and substitutions

Switch to shorter hours during Ramadan and organise substitutions when a teacher is absent, without rebuilding the whole year's timetable.

Publishing and exports

Once approved, the timetable is visible in the teacher, student and parent spaces and in the mobile app. It exports to PDF for display and to ICS for calendars.

Built for schools and training centres

Schools think in classes and subjects; vocational training centres in sessions, modules and trainers. Manhaj adapts to the type of institution, without complex configuration.

Frequently asked questions — timetable

How long does timetable generation take?

Once classes, subjects, weekly hours and availability are entered, the generation itself usually takes a few minutes. The longest part remains gathering the constraints, which Manhaj helps you structure.

Can certain slots be blocked?

Yes. You enter each teacher's unavailability and the slots to avoid; the engine takes them into account during generation, and the grid warns you if a manual change breaks them.

What happens when a teacher is absent?

You record a substitution for the lessons concerned. Students and parents see the updated timetable, while the reference grid stays unchanged.

Is the timetable available on mobile?

Yes. Teachers, students and parents see it in the Manhaj app, and anyone who wants to can add it to their calendar using the ICS export.
